Snuggle Bug Farm was founded by Liesel McCleary and Brendan Sinclair in the spring of 2022. After a decade of managing farms together around the country, they decided to settle in the Ozarks to be closer to Liesel’s family. Brendan is a first-generation farmer and chose to pursue a career in farming because he feels it is at the intersection where he can have the most fun while doing the most good. Liesel grew up spending summers in the Ozarks, jumping on hay bales at her grandparent’s farm, and fell in love with the landscape at an early age. In addition to farming, Liesel has a background in herbalism and hopes to weave these two passions together to support the community. Both Brendan and Liesel are passionate about community health and growing good food.
The name “Snuggle Bug” is a nod to the intention of promoting biodiversity on the farm by developing different habitats throughout the landscape to support pollinators and other beneficial insects. Liesel and Brendan farm utilizing organic principles and practices, with an emphasis on soil health.
